Charisma,
Compassion & Communication.

Hi, I’m Dr Kritika Mehra

I was born and brought up in India. In 2007, I moved to Australia, and by 2009, I found myself in Deniliquin, a small regional town that felt unfamiliar at first, but slowly became home.

Starting over in a new country—and in a tight-knit community—meant I had to do more than just settle in. I had to learn quickly, adapt constantly, and prove myself quietly, every single day. Clinical dentistry was only part of the challenge. Understanding people, connecting across cultures, and building trust—that became the real work.

Over time, my husband Dr. Jimmi Patel and I built two practices—Local Dental Clinic in Deniliquin and The House of Smile Design in Echuca. These clinics aren’t just workplaces; they are spaces where we’ve poured our values, our vision, and our belief in what modern dentistry can really feel like.

I’ve grown from a young graduate into a business owner, a communicator, and a mentor. Every chapter has taught me something new—about leadership, about patient care, and about myself.

And this next chapter—this one’s about sharing everything I’ve learned.

The Art of Patient Communication Podcast

My heart project—sharing lessons, voices and stories that change the way we care.

The Art of Patient Communication is a podcast exploring the essential skills every healthcare professional needs to connect with their patients effectively. From empathetic listening and compassionately delivering difficult news to breaking down complex medical jargon into understandable language.

The Introvert
& the inner voice

Most days, I’m happiest in calm, familiar spaces — quietly recharging with close friends or on my own.

But sometimes, a very different side of me enters the room...

We are health professionals. It’s time to show up with style, lead with empathy and speak with honesty. Our patients deserve nothing less.

I’m on a mission to reshape how the world sees us—not cold or clinical, but as confident, compassionate and deeply human.
